84. Like the oozing of honey....

Verse 84

கானமற்ற காட்டகத்தில் வெந்தெழுந்த நீறுபோல்

ஞானம்உற்ற நெஞ்சகத்தில் வல்லதேதும் இல்லையே

ஊனமற்ற சோதியோடு உணர்வுசேர்ந்து அடங்கினால்

தேன் அகத்தின் ஊறல்போல தெளிந்ததே சிவாயமே

Translation:

Like the ash that arose from the burnt-down forest,

There is no evil in the heart that has wisdom,

If consciousness joins the effulgence that is pure,

It is civāyam which clarifies like the spring/oozing from the house of honey.

Commentary:

Realized souls are free from evil qualities like hatred, anger and desire.  Their austerities burn away all these evil qualities.  Civavākkiyar equates this to the ash that remains from a forest fire.  A fire in the forest occurs naturally.  No one tends it or puts it out.  It stops on its own accord.  The area it burns down is enormous.  Similarly, true realization burns down all that is bad in a person.  Its actions occur naturally and the bad qualities removed are countless.  The ash covers the fire which stays underneath for a while.  Similarly, the austerities wait for any evil quality to rise again so that it could also be destroyed. 

A soul that is free from evil qualities joins the Universal Consciousness.  At this stage, ambrosia that confers eternal life pours down from sahasrara cakra.  The sahasrara is referred to as the house of honey.  Honey oozes from the comb when it is full.  Here the state of fullness makes the ambrosia flow down.

     ஞானிகளிடம் பொறாமை, கோபம், ஆசை போன்ற தீய குணங்கள் இருப்பதில்லை.  அவர்களது சாதனை அந்த தீய குணங்களை எரித்துவிடுகிறது. சிவவாக்கியர் இதை காட்டுத்தீக்குப் பிறகு இருக்கும் சாம்பல் என்று கூறுகிறார்.  காட்டுத்தீ தானாக எழும்புகிறது. அதை ஒருவரும் மூட்டுவதில்லை, அணைப்பதில்லை.  அது எரிக்கும் பரப்பளவு மிகப்பெரியது.  அதன் சாம்பல் கீழே கனன்று கொண்டிருக்கும் தீயை மூடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும். அதேபோல் ஞானினியின் அனுஷ்டானங்கள் மீண்டும் எழும் தீயகுணங்களையும் எரித்துவிடும்.

      தீயகுணங்கள் இல்லாமல் இருக்கும் ஒரு ஆத்மா பரவுணர்வு பெற்றிருக்கும். அப்பொழுது சஹாஸ்ராரத்திலிருந்து அமிர்தம் கீழ்நோக்கி ஓடும்.  அந்த பூரணநிலை அமிர்த ஒழுக்கை ஏற்படுத்தும்.
