85. Pinnacle of kundalini yoga

Verse 85

பருகி ஓடி உம்முளே பறந்துவந்த வெளிதனை

நிரவியே நினைந்து பார்க்கில்நின்மலம் அதாகுமே

உருகிஓடி எங்குமாய் ஓடும்ஜோதி தன்னுளே

கருதுவீர் உமக்குநல்ல காரணம் அதாகுமே

Translation:

Drinking (ambrosia) running inside, contemplating the supreme space

That came flying inside, it will become flawlessness.

You will contemplate within the effulgence that melts and runs

Everywhere.  It will become the good cause for you.

Commentary:

This verse is a continuation of the previous one which talks about the nectar that flows from sahasrara.  In the above verse Civavākkiyar mentioned that burning one’s sins and raising one’s consciousness to sahasrara will confer downpour of the nectar.  When the aspirant consumes it the supreme space or veṭṭaveḷi comes inside him.  Then the aspirant contemplates on the all-pervading effulgence, the Supreme consciousness.  The Divine is the cause of everyone and everything.  The aspirant will realize this.

முந்தைய பாடலின் தொடர்ச்சியாக அமைந்த இப்பாடலில் சிவவாக்கியர் குண்டலினியின் உச்ச நிலையை விளக்குகிறார்.  குண்டலினி யோகத்தினால் ஒருவர் பிராணனை சகஸ்ராரத்துக்கு ஏற்றும்போது அங்கிருந்து அமிர்ததாரை என்னும் அமுத ஊற்று கீழிறங்குகிறது.  அதை பருகுபவர் இறவாநிலையைப் பெறுவதுடன் ஜ்ஞானம் பெறுகிறார்.  அதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக அவர் இறைவனின் உண்மைநிலையை அறிகிறார்.  வெட்டவெளி எனப்படும் பேரம்பலம் அவருள் புகுந்து தன்னை ஜோதியாக வெளிப்படுத்திக்கொள்கிறது. தனது குற்றமற்ற நிலையைக் காட்டுகிறது. தானே அனைத்துக்கும் காரணம் என்பதையும் அந்த யோகி அதன் காரியம் என்பதையும் காட்டுகிறது.
