110. Namacivaya is the threshold between birth and death

Verse 110

அல்லல்வாசல் ஒன்பதும் அடைத்தடைந்த வாசலும்
சொல்லும்வாசல் ஓர் ஐந்தும் சொம்மிவிம்மி நின்றது
நல்லவாச லைத்திறந்து ஞானவாசல் ஊடுபோய்
எல்லைவாசல் கண்டவர் இனிப்பிறப்பது இல்லையே.

Translation:

Blocking the nine gates of trouble the entrance that was reached

It is here that the five letters remained effulgent

Opening the good gate and going through the gate of wisdom

Those who had seen the gate of the frontier are never born again.

Commentary:

The nine gates of trouble are the nine apertures of eyes, ears, nose, mouth, organ of procreation and that of waste management.  Closing these entrances through yoga, the gate on top of the head, sahasrara is opened.  It is at this gate that the five letters of namacivaya stand shinning.  Those who have opened this good gate and gone through the gate of wisdom, the gate at the frontier of limited existence, the one which leads to universal existence, do not have any subsequent births.

     இப்பாடலில் குறிப்பிடப்படும் ஒன்பது வாசல்கள் கண்கள், காதுகள், வாய், பிறப்புறுப்புக்கள், கழிவு உறுப்புக்கள். இந்த ஒன்பது வாசல்களையும் அடைத்து தலையில் உள்ள தலையாய வாசலான சஹாஸ்ராரத்தைத் திறந்தால் அங்கு ஐந்தெழுத்தான நமசிவாய ஒளிர்விடும் என்கிறார் சிவவாக்கியர்.  இந்த எல்லை வாசலைத் திறந்து வெளியே சென்றவர்கள், வெட்ட வெளிக்குச் சென்றவர்கள் மீண்டும் பிறப்பதில்லை என்கிறார் அவர்.
