3. Running, running...

Verse 3

Translation:
Flowing ceaselessly, the effulgence merged within,
Seeking greatly, with their life span spent
Humans who have died withering,
Are several millions.

Commentary:
The term "the effulgence merged within" serves like a pendant in a chain between the two sides of the thread.  It can be combined with the term"running ceaselessly" to mean, "the Divine, the kundalini shakti runs through the cakras in the body and merges within".  Combining it with "seeking greatly" it means "people run greatly-either seeking the Divine, the effulgence or seeking other worldly pleasures".   People go after simple material pleasures instead of seeking the Divine.  Some other people run ceaselessly seeking the Divine but they seek through wrong means or for insignificant benefits.  Doing so they grow fatigued and ultimately die.

In his Tirumandiram Tirumular speaks of the kundalini passing through the yogin’s thandu, the suṣumna (mandiram 612 and 752) where he uses the expression ōḍi (flowing continuously).
