99. What our mother and father, Siva and Sakti, teach us

Verse 99

மூன்று மண்டலத்திலும் முட்டிநின்ற தூணிலும்

நான்ற பாம்பின் வாயிலும் நவின்றெழுந்த அட்சரம்

ஈன்றதாயும் அப்பனும் எடுத்துரைத்த மந்திரம்

தோன்றும் ஓர் எழுத்துளே சொல்ல எங்கும் இல்லையே

                                                                                                      

Translation:

In the three realms, in the pillar hit upon,

Within the hanging mouth of the snake, the letter that arose,

The mantra that was revealed by the birth-mother and father,

To reveal it within the single letter that occurs, there is no one anywhere!

Commentary:

The three realms are Candra mandala, Surya mandala and Agni mandala.  These are present within our body.  The pillar is the spinal column at which the ida, pingala and sushumna nadis remain.  The kundalini śakti should be woken up with the akshara ‘a’ and ‘u’ and made to travel through the sushumna nadi and travel through the three realms.  The letter a is Śiva our father and u Śakti our mother.  They, the ultimate causes for manifestation, gave birth to us in this form. They are our true guru.  No one else can teach this mantra other than them.

மூன்று மண்டலம் என்பது சந்திர, சூரிய அக்னி மண்டலங்களைக் குறிக்கும்.  அவை நமது உடலினுள் உள்ளன.  முட்டி நின்ற தூண் என்பது இடை, பிங்கலை சுழுமுனை என்னும் மூன்று நாடிகள் சேர்ந்திருக்கும் நாடியைக் குறிக்கும்.  குண்டலினி சக்தி இந்த தூணில் எழும்பு சகஸ்ராரத்தில் முட்டி நிற்கிறது.  ஓம் என்னும் ஓங்காரத்தில் அ என்னும் எழுத்து நமது தந்தையான சிவனைக் குறிக்கும். உ என்னும் எழுத்து உமா அல்லது சக்தியைக் குறிக்கும்.  இவ்விரண்டு எழுத்துக்களை உச்சரிப்பதன் மூலம் குண்டலினி சக்தியை சுழுமுனையின் மூலம் மேலேற்றினால் அது ஓம் என்னும் ஓரெழுத்தாய் நிலவும்.  சிவவாக்கியர் இந்த தத்துவத்தை விளக்க சிவனையும் சக்தியையும் தவிர வேறொருவர் எங்கும் இல்லை என்று கூறுகிறார்.
