118. Seek Rama nama as the ultimate locus is different from this world

Verse 118

நீடுபாரி லேபிறந்து நேயமான காயந்தான்
வீடுவேறி தென்றபோது வேண்டிஇன்பம் வேண்டுமோ?
பாடிநாலு வேதமும் பாரிலே படர்ந்ததோ?
நாடுராம ராமராம ராமமென்னும் நாமமே!

Translation:

The body that was born in the wide world

Will it seek physical pleasure when it is said that the destination is somewhere else?

Did the four Vedas teach this and spread all over the world?

Seek the name Rama, Rama, Rama, Rama.

Commentary:

The final destination of the soul is the Supreme Reality.  If this is made known to the limited soul that has grown fond of the body, will it seek physical pleasures through the body any further?  The four Vedas that have spread everywhere teach only this truth.  Hence, Civavākkiyar urges us to seek the divine name Rama.

As we mentioned before the mantra Rama removes the worldly attachments and grants liberation and eternal life.  Thus, Rama is the right mantra for a soul yearning for the truth.

இவ்வுலகில் பிறந்த ஒவ்வொரு ஜீவனின் உண்மையான வீடு இந்த உலகமல்ல வேறொரு இடம் என்று அதற்குச் சொன்னால் அது இந்த உலகில் உள்ள இன்பங்களை நிலையானவை என்று தேடுமோ?  உலகில் பாடப்படும் நான்கு வேதங்களும் இதைத்தான் கூறுகின்றன. அதனால் உலகப் பற்றை விலக்கக் கூடிய ராம நாமத்தை தான் உயிர்கள் தேட வேண்டும் என்று சிவவாக்கியர் கூறுகிறார்.
