128. Instead of spinning yarn blow the bellow!

Verse 128

பருத்திநூல் முறுக்கிவிட்டுப் பஞ்சிஓதும் மாந்தரே!
துருத்திநூல் முறுக்கிவிட்டுத் துன்பம்நீங்க வல்லீரேல்
கருத்தில்நூல் கலைப்படும் காலநூல் கழிந்திடும்
திருத்திநூல் கவலறும் சிவாயஅஞ்சு எழுத்துமே.

Translation:

Hey, People who spinning the cotton thread and recite wearily!

If you are able to remove misery by twisting the thread of the bellow

You will become aware of knowledge from great works, thread of time will become null

Correcting one and cutting the thread of worries is the five lettered civaya.

Commentary:

The first line may be addressed to those who wear the sacred thread made by spinning cotton.  They pride themselves that they are in a better position to attain liberation as they wear the sacred thread and recite mantras.  Instead of this, if they are able to practice pranayama by controlling air through this body, which is the bellow, all the great ancient knowledge, will become theirs.  They will go beyond the concept of time.  All this is possible through the five-lettered mantra ci-va-ya.  The five lettered ci va ya is actually ci va ya va ci.

இப்பாடலின் முதல் வரி பூணூல் அணியும் முக்குலத்தோரையும் குறித்து உள்ளது.  அவர்கள் தாம் பூணூல் அணிவதால், மந்திரங்களை உச்சரிக்கத் தகுதி பெற்றிருப்பதால் உயர்ந்த நிலையில் இருப்பதாக எண்ணுகின்றனர்.  ஆனால் அவர்கள் தங்கள் உடல் என்னும் துருத்தியில் மூச்சைக் கட்டுப்படுத்திச் செலுத்தும் முறையைக் கற்றுக்கொண்டால்தான் அவர்களுக்கு ஞானம் ஏற்படும். அவர்கள் காலத்தைக் கடந்து போக முடியும்.  இது சிவயவசி என்னும் ஐந்தெழுத்து மந்திரத்தால்தான் சாத்தியம் என்று சிவவாக்கியர் கூறுகிறார்.
